Live22: the lobby, the shared bet bar and where to start

Across the top of the Live22 lobby a marquee reads TOTAL JACKPOT 3,326,264,533, in lights, and it doesn't stop ticking while you pick a game. Under it the lobby is split into six tabs: Featured, Slots, Table, Arcade, Favourite and Room. The Featured tab in our capture holds twelve tiles, each flagged NEW or HOT, from Buffalo Blaze and Ra God of the Sun to Mystery Lake of Pearl, which also gets a banner of its own at the bottom of the screen.

Live22 is one of the smaller app casinos Malaysian players use, and unlike lobbies that mostly resell other studios' games, almost everything in it shares one house style. That makes it quick to learn. Once you know one Live22 slot, you know where every button is in the others.

Accounts, top-ups and cuci

Like the other apps on this site, Live22 doesn't have a public sign-up. An agent or provider creates a game ID for you and gives you the password. You top up with that agent, usually by bank transfer or e-wallet, and they load the credit onto your ID. When you cash out, the cuci goes back through the same agent.

That means the agent is the part that matters. The app shows a balance, but only the agent can pay it out. Before you send money, ask how long a cuci takes and what the minimum is, start small, and keep your receipts. If an agent goes quiet, there's nobody above them to complain to.

Live22 isn't in Google Play or the App Store. It's installed from outside the stores on Android and iPhone, and there were Windows and Mac clients at one point too. The steps and the checks worth doing are on the Live22 install notes page.

What every Live22 game has in common

The account number sits top left in every game, next to a trophy icon, with the TOTAL JACKPOT counter in the middle and your balance on the right. Cover that account number if you ever share a screenshot.

The bottom bar is the same in nearly every slot: a TOTAL BET box with arrows on either side, MAX BET, a win box, AUTO SPIN, FAST and SPIN. Most games also carry a four-tier jackpot bar, GRAND, MAJOR, MINOR and MINI, and the numbers on it scale with your bet: at a total bet of 25 the GRAND in one game read about 31,000, at 100 in another it was well over 120,000. A message line under the reels tells you how many jackpot symbols start the jackpot game, usually two or three.

Each slot also shows a round room badge in the top right corner with a city name: Nanjing, HongKong, Tokyo, Kyoto, BeiJing. The lobby's Room tab ties in with this. Our captures don't show what the rooms change.

A tour of the game pages

The lobby favourite. Mystery Lake of Pearl is the one Live22 pushes hardest, with an old fisherman, a money frog and a pearl shell that marks free spins.

Games with a full bonus on camera. Panthera Pardus is a 50-line leopard slot with a whole five-spin free game in its captures, from the claw-slash intro to a closing screen of 1,640. Pop Kittens turns whole reels into photographed kittens.

Chinese stories. Justice Bao is a 20-line courtroom slot with drums and a jade seal, and Legend of the White Snake turns the old folk tale into nine lines.

Something different. Mayan Element of Life pays 243 ways instead of lines. Midnight Carnival is a horror circus of saws and clowns, and Jingle Winnings has a yeti and its own three-part bet panel.

Familiar names. Highway Kings and Money Bang Bang exist on other apps too, but the Live22 versions are drawn in this studio's own style.

Before you play

• Look at TOTAL BET. Live22 shows the whole stake per spin, not a line bet, so what you see is what each spin costs.
• The jackpot bar is a display. The four numbers show what the jackpots are worth at your current bet. They aren't a sign that one is due.
• The old pages were spun from studio reviews. Line counts and features in them often didn't match. On our pages, anything the screens didn't show is marked as unconfirmed.
