King of Olympus: Zeus, Pegasus and 25 lines you can't turn off

Unlike most slots, King of Olympus won't let you play fewer lines. The LINES box in the bet bar shows a big 25 with no minus or plus buttons under it, and two blue panels on either side of the reels spell out 25 LINES, one letter at a time. You get to choose the line bet, and that's it. At RM0.01 a line, every spin in these captures costs RM0.25.

This is the Zeus game in Playtech's Age of the Gods series. The reels float over a sunlit sea of cloud, with the four jackpot counters in the top corners and the lobby menu (Games, New Games, Classic Slots, Video Slots, Table Games, Progressive Games) along the top of the window.

Zeus and his court

Zeus comes in two versions: a portrait of the white-bearded god in a gold frame, and the same face with WILD written across the bottom. There's also a tile with ZEUS in blue letters on a small temple. The other pictures are a white Pegasus rearing up against a blue sky, a purple eagle with lightning in its claws, a Greek warship with a striped sail, a red vase painted with fighting figures and a golden lyre. The card letters are gold-edged in green, blue and red.

That's the one win in the set. On line 14 an eagle on reel 1, the Zeus wild on reel 2 and another eagle on reel 3 make three eagles, worth RM0.50, or twice the stake.

Every so often the logo is replaced by this banner: five Zeus win 3000 times the line bet. At one sen a line, that's RM30. The old page said free spins add a Zeus wild locked on the middle reel, and that a random pick'em game hands out one of the four jackpots. I didn't see either in these five screens.

A jackpot shared across the series

Put this page next to the Prince of Olympus captures and the counters line up. Prince of Olympus ends with Ultimate Power at RM986,117.08, and King of Olympus starts at RM986,128.26 a moment later. It's one pool feeding both games, and probably the rest of the series too. The Power counter drops from RM1,154.57 to RM342.77 between two of these shots, which means someone in that pool collected it.
