Gladiator Jackpot: a steel helmet wild and a four-million counter

The counter in the top-right corner of Gladiator Jackpot read RM4,411,960.00 in the first capture and RM4,414,939.83 a few minutes later, so it climbs by roughly a thousand ringgit a minute while people play. That jackpot, and the film it is based on, are what this game trades on.

Reels and paytable

The game is 5 reels by 3 rows with 25 lines, numbered on tabs down both sides, set against a gold arena wall. The low symbols are big gold numerals and letters, 9 to A. The high ones are character portraits: the emperor in a laurel wreath at the top, a woman in a red and gold headdress, an older senator with white hair, and a pair of fighters (a man in a chainmail hood and an older man in a dark turban) who share a payout row.

The paytable's first page reads, for five of a kind:

• Emperor: 5000 (4 pay 500, 3 pay 75, 2 pay 8)
• Woman in the headdress: 1000
• Senator: 350
• The two fighters: 250
• A and K: 200
• Q and J: 120
• 9 and 10: 75

The wild is a silver gladiator helmet. It appears only on reels 2, 3 and 4, substitutes for everything except the scatter, and three of them start the Gladiator Jackpot Bonus. The scatter is a picture of the Colosseum, paying 100, 20, 4 and 1 for five, four, three and two.

Bet bar

The coin is RM0.01 ("click to change"), 10 coins make the RM0.10 line bet, and with 25 lines the total is RM2.50. Buttons along the bottom: INFO, AUTO START with a SPINS counter set to 10, LINES, BET PER LINE, BET MAX and SPIN. One capture had four queens on line 1, two of them substituted by helmets, paying RM4, which fits 40 times the line bet.
