Super 8 Ways Ultimate: a 3x3 bar-and-seven machine with a double-down round

That's the whole pitch of this game, and there's not much art to distract from it: a black background, nine separate black reels in a 3x3 block and a wall of numbers on the left.

The symbols are the ones you'd find on an old pub fruit machine without the fruit: single, double and triple BARs, red, blue and "ANY" 7s, a blank, and a Double symbol with a jester face on it.

The pay table

The table on the left is the heart of it. You bet from 1 to 8, and as I read it each extra unit lights up another column of symbols (the header says all pays on lit symbols only): bet 1 pays only on the blank, bet 2 adds ANY BAR, bet 3 single BAR, and so on until bet 8 includes the blue 7. The rows on the side count how many of a kind you hit across the lit lines, from 3 to 9. Nine blue 7s at bet 8 is the 100000 in orange. A smaller table underneath lists three-in-a-line pays: three Doubles 1000, three blue 7s 200, three red 7s 100 and three ANY 7s 50, with triple bars 40 down to any bars 4. The Double symbol doubles a winning combination.

The buttons are COLLECT, BET ONE, BET ALL and SPIN, with DENOMINATION 0.25 on the left. Coloured number tags around the grid (pink, blue, red on top; green, yellow, red down the side) show a small counter for each line, and a column on the right tallies how many of each symbol are on the grid.

Double Down

After a win the game offers DOUBLE/HALF OR COLLECT. The ladder along the top runs LOW to HIGH: blank, BAR, double BAR, triple BAR, red 7, blue 7, Double. The dealer gets one reel, you choose one of your three with SELECT, and the higher symbol wins. In this capture SLOT WIN was MPV 1.00, COLLECTABLE 1.00 and TRY LUCK 2.00.

The SPECIAL BONUS box on the left pays extra if your three reels land three identical symbols: from x1 for single bars up to x100 for three Doubles, with x4 or x2 for two or one Double. I only have this one Double Down capture, so I can't say how often that comes up.
