Monkey Story: bet on who the Monkey King lands on
Not a slot. Monkey Story has you spread chips over twelve Journey to the West character bets and a BANK, TIE or PLAYER side bet, then watch the Monkey King fly round the board.
Twelve faces and three side boxes: that's the whole bet screen in Monkey Story. There are no reels. You spread chips across the board while a timer runs down, then Sun Wukong takes off on his cloud and flies round a ring of portraits until he stops on one.
The board
The characters come from Journey to the West. Each appears in red, green and yellow, and each colour has its own multiplier. In the round I have on screen:
- the Monkey King in his gold headband: x25, x40 and x46
- a girl with her hair in two buns: x12, x20 and x23
- a green-faced demon with a yellow crescent on his head: x7, x11 and x13
- a horned ox demon: x4, x7 and x8
The last column holds three side bets, BANK x2, TIE x9 and PLAYER x2. Above the grid is a row of small result tiles (PLAYER, BANK and a gold tile with Chinese text reading roughly "Bull Demon King, all hit"), a big COUNTDOWN dial and an Auto Rebet switch.
At the bottom: CHIPS 50, BALANCE, BET and WIN. In the hero shot there's 50 on the red green-faced demon and a pop-up saying the bets were sent. A later shot has 50 on a green ox, 150 on a yellow ox and the balance down to 1591.
Watching the result
Once betting closes the board slides away and you get a painted mountain scene. The ring of portraits dims, the Monkey King rides round on his cloud, and the winner lights up. The top of the ring is marked with a gate labelled 南天门 (the Southern Heaven Gate) and the bottom with 水帘洞, the Water Curtain Cave.
Each result screen also shows two small character cards in a green frame top left and a BANK, TIE or PLAYER tag top right, so the side bet is settled alongside the main one.
