Legacy of the Wild: collapsing reels and a meter that counts your waves

Most slots tell you how they work somewhere in a menu. Legacy of the Wild puts it all on the first screen, before you've spun once: three panels headed WAVE-O-METER, COLLAPSING REELS and BOOK OF WILDS FEATURE, a big green START button, and a "Do not show this again" box. It's worth reading once.

This is a Playtech game held upright on the phone. The LPE88 captures show a dim wizard's study, with a stack of old books on the left, a guttered candle on a wooden table below the reels, and the grid in a thin gold frame.

Waves, and the meter on the left

The grid is five reels by four rows with 40 lines. When a win lands, the winning symbols explode and new ones drop in. The game calls each drop a Wave. Down the left of the grid is a column of ten glass orbs. The bottom four are blank; the rest are numbered 8, 10, 15, 20, 30 and 50. The intro screen says five or more Wave wins in a row trigger Free Games, so the numbers look like the free games you'd get for reaching that orb. The old page listed the same ladder (5 waves for 8 free spins up to 10 or more for 50), so here the old text and the screen agree.

In these captures I only saw two waves in a row. The first paid RM0.08, flashed in big gold numbers over the grid, and the second RM0.03, for RM0.11 on a RM0.40 spin.

Look at the meter in that shot: the lowest orb is glowing. Three more and you'd be at the first numbered one.

The cast

The picture symbols are a small fantasy party: a woman in a red hood, a purple-haired boy holding a potion flask, a bearded wizard in an orange hat, a snarling green orc and a blue-skinned warrior with a white beard. The low symbols are dark tiles with gems and runes in red, blue, purple, green and amber. I didn't see the Book of Wilds on the grid, only the cross of WILD tiles on the intro screen.
