Fountain of Youth: the paytable is printed right on the screen
An old-style three-reel slot with frogs, butterflies and water lilies, and a paytable you can read without opening a menu.
The paytable in Fountain of Youth isn't hidden behind an info button. It's painted into the top-right corner of the game, and that alone makes it easier to judge than most of the slots I've looked at on LPE88.
This one comes from LPE88's older desktop client and is about as simple as a slot gets: three reels, three lines and a pond-side background with a stone fountain spraying water on the left.
The paytable
Reading down the right-hand side:
- Three fountains: 400 on line 1, 600 on line 2, 800 on line 3 (the small line numbers 2, 1 and 3 are stacked beside the figures)
- Three butterflies: 250
- Three bluebirds: 125
- Three frogs: 60
- Three water lilies: 30
- Any three symbols: 4
The fountain is the only symbol whose prize depends on which line it lands on, and line 3 pays double line 1. The old version of this page gave the same 400, 600 and 800, and for once the old text agrees with the screen. No unit is printed; with a coin of RM0.01 I take these as coins, not ringgit.
Lines 2, 1 and 3 are marked by numbered tabs on the left of the reels: 2 across the top, 1 through the middle, 3 along the bottom. The capture above shows a RM0.08 win on a RM0.03 bet, which fits a couple of any-three pays, though I can't tell exactly which lines paid.
Setting the bet
Under the reels: a coin box with minus and plus (RM0.01 in every shot), then Bet One, Spin and Bet Max. Going by the names, Bet One and Bet Max decide how many of the three lines you play; with all three on at RM0.01, the Bet box reads RM0.03. Win shows on the right. That's the whole control panel. There's no autoplay button on this one.
For something a step up, Highway Kings uses the same old client with the same Bet One and Bet Max buttons, on five reels and nine lines. Great Blue is the fuller video-slot option from the same era.
